As I turn to the jail

I sit outside

I hate the jail

I leave jail

I struggle

I don’t succeed

I am done with life

 

As I turn to jail

I sit outside

As I move on I look

I make my way forward

I make a steady pace

 

Restlessly I rest

I get used to it

Time is on my side

 

I see an end

It is working out

I have made it

 

I have sought within

I have found me

I am steady

The flight is set back

As I sit, I wonder

Does this mean I should head

Back home, for which I did wonder

 

I decided to stay

I watch all sorts of planes fly away

Some big

Some a bit smaller

 

Did nothing bother me

As I sat, for soon I would be free

The world was checking in

And I was answering with truth

 

Set me free

And soon I will be nothing

You shall see

You shall see

 

I defied all odds of it

I took off

You shall never see me

Throw a fit

Down in the Valley

Vets call it the mother land

There we fished

We hunted

We were born

 

U across its heart

Is a dark alley

I was found there

By an old man

 

He took my hand

He guided me

Now my life is a tribute

To him

 

He died while feeding me

I will never forget him

I knew him shortly

But his effect played true

 

Now I go to the mother land

Every once in awhile

It is there I find courage

To reach beyond

I do not believe

My humility sets me free

I have no need for false pride

 

It is what keeps me,

Firmly planted on earth

That is what I need

 

No more false claims

By me today or tomorrow

It is I who has lost my self

 

I only wish to be me

No more images

Of what I am not

 

I am me

And it is great

For I have a life

 

Living life may be hard

But that is what makes it

Real and true to me
