As I begin I wait

I go slowly

I make like progress

 

I go to the end

I reach for the end

I seek the end

 

There is anger

I yell out loud

I punch the air

 

There is nothing to do

I wait on my seat

I stay put

 

As I move on I look

I make my way forward

I make a steady pace

 

Restlessly I rest

I get used to it

Time is on my side

 

I see an end

It is working out

I have made it

 

I have sought within

I have found me

I am steady

In the present

No more running

I don’t eat spam

I have become stunning

Call it the summer of Sam

For my kill is nothing

Reason to Shoot

El Paso was a spot to party

In 1999, on the last day of the year

There was a party

We brought in the New Year

 

I was there, to observe

Fun was everywhere

Happiness I had observed

There was blood nowhere

 

Drinkers drank

Shooters shot

 

I sat back with my mom

We were together as

Mom and son

 

I laughed at some people

I paid for it later in my

Young adult life

 

Now I know why El Paso was

It is only a truth you know

By being an adult

 

The burden of life

Makes us

Who we choose to be

Finding Home:

 

The stream flows down

I am gazing upon the wonder

There is little about, too frown

 

I sit down and wonder

How has this come to pass

I sit and ponder

 

The last I knew, I was lost

Then I found my way

Has it come at a cost

 

There are people being tortured

The one who should be is me

I have become covered

 

The deck of me is my heart

It is built solid

I shall never be torn apart

 

I am being lured in

I will not be took

I will take to the ocean

 

At the ocean I settle

The waves swerve

I make it across little by little

 

I lay in the sand

People walk by

I get the courage to stand

 

Once I begin to walk

I make my way to a home

I find it on a dock

 

 

 

There I fish

I sleep

I stare at the finish

 

My journey is done

There will be more to see

But I have yet to over stay my welcome
